Bolognese Sauce

Serves 4

INGREDIENTS:

  • 450g Minced Turkey/Beef
  • 1 Carrot, peeled and diced
  • 1 Large Onion, chopped
  • 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp mixed herbs

EQUIPMENT:

  • Large saucepan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Tablespoon
  • Teaspoon
  • Sharp knife
  • Chopping board
  • Tin opener

METHOD:

  • Brown the mince/turkey in the saucepan for 5 minutes, stirring all the time
  • Drain the fat from the mince/turkey
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well
  • Simmer gently for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
  • Serve with pasta, spaghetti, jacket potato or boiled rice
