Vegetable & cheese pasta

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 Carrot - peeled and sliced
  • 3 Spears broccoli
  • 8 French beans - trimmed and cut into 2cm lengths
  • 60g (2oz) Pasta shapes
  • Cheese sauce
  • 1.1/2 Tbsp butter/margarine
  • 1.1/2 Tbsp plain flour
  • 175ml (6 fl oz) Full fat milk
  • 30g (1 oz) Cheese - grated

Equipment:

  • 2 Saucepans
  • Sharp knife
  • Scales
  • Chopping board
  • Grater
  • Wooden spoon
  • Whisk
  • Measuring jug

Method:

  1. Boil the vegetables for approx 10 minutes in a saucepan
  2. Cook the pasta in boiling water for about 12 minutes then drain
  3. Put the butter, flour and milk in a pan and whisk until it thickens then stir in grated cheese
  4. Add the vegetables and pasta to the cheese sauce and serve
