Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for screening and assessing the needs of service users who present with alcohol related issues. The successful candidate will ensure that individuals access the best possible packages of care. The work will include offering advice, information and supporting service users to make positive lifestyle changes. You will have experience in working with this particular clients group providing brief interventions, using a range of therapeutic methods and approaches as well as possessing a relevant social care qualification.

Working directly with injecting drug users within the community, the post holder will be required to deliver a wide range of specialist nursing duties including assessment, planning, implementation, review and evaluation of harm minimisation interventions in order to reduce drug related harm. This will include providing links with health and social care professionals and other agencies providing specialist harm minimisation advice and information to improve awareness and promote good practice. The successful candidate will have the appropriate skills to engage with service users and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Previous clinical experience equivalent to RGN grade Band 5, of drug / alcohol work, harm reduction practices and an appropriate 1st level Registration RGN qualification are essential requirements for this position.
